WLPR offers an opportunity for pond owners to learn more about the health of their pond and the sediment that settles on the bottom over time with the sediment sampling service. The information collected is an important resource for future management practices. These efforts assist our biologist in determining what products and associated applications might be required for safe, enjoyable and recreational activities!
You will receive a loose sediment depth profile report and aerial sample point imagery indicating the location of the samples taken. These samples can be sent into a lab for testing of phosphorous and total percentage of organic matter.
Our process occurs during the winter months when ice conditions are deemed safe enough for our staff and related equipment. A biologist will utilize lasers and an Eckman Dredge as a mechanism to be lowered to the pond basin for sample collection.
The results are available for $400 per sample. Larger bodies of water may require multiple sample sites. If you would like the sediment sent into the lab for testing of the phosphorous and total percentage of organic matter it is an additional $100.
